Storms that hit the city of Wichita, Kansas caused massive amounts of damage to the local schools.  These storms that hit the city on May, 19th have already claimed $2 million in funding for repairs that the board already approved at its June 10th meeting.  School officials ensure the community that all but about $250,000 should be reimbursed by the district’s insurance.  These devastating storms accompanied with rain, hail and wind have damage more than 12 school sites, including major damage at Brooks Middle School.  It seems as though we are not quite out of the woods yet, after Wilbur Middle School recently sustained about $225,000 worth of repairs from a storm that occurred on June 27.
